Czechs set to flock to Dalmatia again this summe

The town of Makarska on Croatia's Dalmatian coast was this year selected as the venue for the annual Czech Republic Tourist Agencies' Congress.
Croatian Tourism Board President, Niko Bulic, addressing the congress which concluded on Sunday, emphasised how important the Czech Republic was for tourism in Croatia.
"The Czech Republic has always been very important to Croatian tourism. You are one of our top five most important markets in the world. Along the Makarska Riviera, tourists from the Czech Republic are the most numerous. So it is not by chance that your congress is held here in Makarska," said Bulic.
Some 88 representatives and 53 tourist agency owners were in Makarska for the congress, where they got also a chance to visit the towns of Split, Trogir and Imotski and also the Biokovo mountains and got introduced to the tourist attractions and offerings of the Split-Dalmatia County.
Klaudio Stojnic, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board based in Prague, also attended the congress saying that out of the 4 million Czech tourists who spend their holidays abroad, around 1 million spent them in Croatia, reported daily Croatian newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija.

Croatia to take part in building two pipelines
Representatives of the Governments of Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, and Bosnia and Herzegovina signed a memorandum highlighting their intention to construct two new pipelines - the Trans-Adriatic (Trans Adriatic Pipeline, TAP) and the Ionian-Adriatic (Ionian Adriatic Pipeline, IAP), the news agency RIA Novosti reports.
