The winner of Croatia's first Olympic Games gold medal since 2004, Sandra Perkovic, says it was the happiest day of her life, after she won the women's discus event at the London Olympic Games on the weekend.
Perkovic, who not only won Croatia's first gold medal since 2004 in Athens, but became the first Croatian women to win an Olympic gold medal, won with a throw of 69.11 meters, writes daily newspaper 24sata.
"This is the happiest day of my life, the happiest year of my life. This is the first Croatian women's gold medal, what more can I say," said Sandra after winning Croatia's 19th Olympic medal since its independence.
"I knew I threw far, thank you everyone for the support, especially the Croatian handball team who came to support me and had to put up with me these days, now we are going to celebrate," concluded a happy Perkovic.
Rovinj to get swingers' beach bar
