Croatian tennis star Ivo Karlovic pulls out of Olympics

Croatian tennis player Ivo Karlovic, who despite carrying an injury travelled to London with high hopes of playing, will take no part in this summer's Olympic games, reports daily newspaper Jutarnji list.

Croatian Olympic Committee doctors, Boris Labar, Miroslav Smerdelj and Igor Bobic ruled out the big serving Croatian after examining him when he arrived at the Olympic village. Karlovic injured his ankle whilst preparing for the ATP tournament in Umag on 6 June.

"I honestly had hopes of playing. I am sad, these are the Olympic games, and the chance only comes around every 4 years," said a disappointed Karlovic.
