Hajduk fans new protest

Hajduk Split fans covered an ancient Roman palace in a huge bag today (Thurs) in protest at the election of club executives.

They said the yellow bag draped over the "Peristil" square in Diocletian's Palace in Split on Thursday morning was a warning of the influence Split mayor Zeljko Kerum – who owns a string of shops where yellow bags are handed out to customers – has on the club.

Fans fear Kerum’s pals will be appointed to the board in a reshuffle this Sunday rather than experienced managers.

Earlier this week frustrated fans dumped a flock of sheep outside the club, saying the sheep could do a better job of running the club than the candidates so far put forward for board posts.
