Dino Jelusic records two singles with South African star

Croatian Times

Croatian rocker Dino Jelusic has teamed up with South African musician Mandoza to highlight corruption and rhino poaching.

The pair who met in Germany last year on Mandoza’s tour of the country have so far recorded two singles.

And Mandoza - whose real name is Mduduzi Tshabalala - says they have also come up with a unique style of music called Synkopation, which will be the name of his forthcoming new album.

Speaking to local paper The Sowetan, Mandoza said he and Jelusic had jelled the instant they met, sharing similar views on corruption, poaching and music.

"Irrespective of of our backgrounds, we both have similar experiences when it comes to corruption," Mandoza said, adding: "Dino knows about the Rhino issues and shows deep concern about the killing of the animals."

Jelusic who shot to fame at the age of 11 after winning the 2003 Junior Eurovision Song Contest told the paper he had felt energised by Mandoza's beats while his deep love for animals and hatred for corruption had made it easy for them to collaborate.
