Rijeka exhibition on immigration to open in New York

The Museum of Rijeka exhibition 'Merika: emigration from Central Europe to America 1880 - 1914 will be presented in New York, at the place which experienced the first wave immigrants, on Ellis Island.
The exhibition, to be held at the Immigration Museum on Ellis Island from 28 June to 4 September, includes photographs, documents, records, videos and other exhibits that illustrate the huge wave of emigration from the area of Central Europe to America in the second half of the 19th and the early part of the 20th century.
The author of the exhibition is Ervin Dubrovic, Director of the Rijeka City Museum in Croatia and the designer is Klaudio Cetina. The Rijeka exhitbition Merika was presented at the Museum of Rijeka from December 2008 until June 2009 and won the annual award of the Croatian Museum Association in 2009.
