Artist to throw unsold paintings into a river

Croatian artist Zeljko Senecic has decided to close his exhibition by throwing all unsold paintings into the Sava River in Zagreb tomorrow (Fri).
Senecic's exhibition "Mili moji" (My Dear) tells funny stories about the meeting of the old and the new Zagreb.
The artist called his gesture of throwing the paintings into the river as a cheerful act of picture liberation. He claimed it would give them freedom to look at the world from a different point of view, which many people were afraid to or could not do.
In an interview in the daily Novi list, he said he would throw them into the river to prolong their lives and make them happy.
Senecic said it was the first exhibition that had really made him happy in his 50 years of work.
Asked whether he was allowed to throw paintings into the river, the artist said they would not pollute the water because they were completely natural.
