London's Mayor Boris Johnson, who has been holidaying this summer in Croatia, has issued a warning to Croatia ahead of joining the European Union.
"Croatia is a beautiful country with great economic potential, but don't become slaves of Brussels democracy. There are also good sides to the EU, such as free trade, and no barriers for young talent," Johnson told website net.hr., adding that now was not a good time to join the Euro.
Johnson, who was holidaying in the Neretva valley, says he has always wanted to visit Croatia and that he had been once only before, at the start of the 1990's. Johnson also talked about the recent Olympic Games that his city of London hosted, saying that total organising costs reached 9.3 billion pounds.
The flamboyant London Mayor says he hopes to come back to Croatia. "I would love to come back, my wife and I have just been talking about that. There is nothing like this here in Europe. It's greener and nicer than say Greece, less crowded that France, and the islands are like from dreams, out of this world, amazing islands," concluded Johnson.
