Croatian General inducted into U.S Hall of Fame

Croatian Times

Croatian army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Drago Lovric, has become just the second Croat to be inducted into the U.S. National Defence University (NDU) Hall of Fame, after a reception was held Washington on Monday.

The induction is recognition to former students of the university, who after completing their studies, excelled in the military, the governments of their respective countries, or in international forces or organisations.

Candidates for the Hall of Fame must hold the highest positions in the military or administration, and a key criterion is assessing the candidates achievements in the contribution to international peace and stability. Lovric attended NDU in 2004, where he finished the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and a Master's degree in national resource strategy.

Lovric is the second Croatian general to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Last year Gordan Cacic, a former director of the Military Security and Intelligence Agency and State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence posthumously received the honour after he was killed in an accident on an Italian ski field in 2008, reported daily newspaper Vecernji list.
