Prime Minister: 'Those on Croatian islands live better'

Croatian Times

Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic, who is currently holidaying on the Dalmatian island of Hvar, has said that Croatian citizens living on Croatia's islands have more options and live better than those in the cities.

"On the islands people live differently, more complicated, but better. The opportunities are enormous, more than in the cities, you just have to have ideas, and the government is here to remove barriers," said Milanovic at a special session of the Stari Grad City Council on the occasion of the feast of Sveti Rok (Saint Rok), the patron saint of Stari Grad on the island of Hvar.

The Prime Minister also stressed that it is easy to help those who know how to help themselves, but that "he does not walk around with a bag of money handing it out".

Milanovic also touched on the economic forecast for 2013, saying that he expects Croatia to achieve economic growth, reported daily newspaper 24sata.
