Zagreb Mayor: Pay your debts and we will write interest off

The mayor of Croatia's capital Zagreb, Milan Bandic, has told the citizens of the capital that anyone with debts to the city will have the chance to have the interest that has been accumulated on the debt written off.

Bandic has encouraged Zagreb citizens with outstanding debts to the city to apply within 30 days to the City Council's finance department to have any accumulated interest on their debts wiped.

If the principle of the debt is paid to the Zagreb City Council in the next 30 days then all interest will be written off, reported Croatian radiotelevision.
