Croats on Mars
Croatian Times
NASA’s rover Curiosity, whose mission is to assess the possibility of life on Mars, landed on the Red Planet on Sunday and thanks to the Mars Science Laboratory initiative "Send Your Name to Mars", Curiosity was also equipped with a microchip containing the names of 1.24 million people from around the world, reports website index.hr.
Amongst the names from all around the world who joined the initiative and sent their names to Mars, there were 7,788 Croats. That placed Croatia in 22nd place on the list of countires that were represented.
2,006 names from neighbouring Serbia were sent, 1,316 from Slovenia and 821 from Bosnia.
