The 31st edition of the International Summer School of Architecture got under way in the Istrian town of Motovun on the weekend and will be held until 11 August in the student centre of the Architecture University of Zagreb, reports Croatian radiotelevision.
This year around 40 lectures and students will take part in the school. Apart from Croatia, students and lecturers from Canada, Denmark, Austria, USA, Italy, Spain, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and other nations will be take part.
Besides tradition, creativity and sustainability, participants at the summer school are offered various lectures, presentations, exhibitions, discussions and field work.
"In the context of tradition, creativity and sustainability we will be dealing with different topics around decorating public spaces, primarily in Motovun: Planning of squares, walls, architectural units and isolated buildings like the Municipal Palace and the interpolation of the transport infrastructure, street furniture and visual communication and environmental protection," said the head of the International Summer School of Architecture in Motovun Ljubomir Miscevic.
