Mass Grave from World War II found in Vrgorac
Croatian Times
Staff from a utility company in Vrgorac (Split-Dalmatia County) have found human bones that are persumed to have belonged to civilians and prisoners of war from World War II.
The Vrgorac workers discovered the mass grave after working near a cemetery and discovered parts of skeletons. The workers notified police immediately, who halted further work in the area until investigations were carried out by experts.
There has been no official confirmation, but unofficially it has been revealed that what was discovered were mass graves of civilians and priests from Ljubuski, who were shot at the end of World War II by Partisans after they had previously taken them out of jail, reports website dalje.com.
