Croatian sails off on around the world adventure with her baby

Croatian Times

Although experts advise against it, Croatian women Kristina Damijanidis (32) from the Dalmatian city of Split has set off on an adventure which will see her sail around the world on a 12 metre boat with her finace and 17-month-old baby daughter Martina, writes daily newspaper 24sata.

Kristina and her fiance Giuseppe della Volpe, have set off from Venice and will sail all the way to the coast of Australia, taking their infant daughter with them.

The couple say they have no fears at all before taking off on the risky adventure. "I will be in constant contact with her pediatrician. We are equipped with all medicines," said Kristina, who says her fiance is an experienced skipper.

"We want to sail around the world whilst Martina does not have to go to school. In countries where we plan to stay a bit longer we will put Martina into kindergarten," added Martina.

The couple plan to work along the way in their trades, Giuseppe is a qualified hairdresser and Kristina is a tattooist. The pair plan to get married in Polynesia and hope to come back home with one more child.
