Croatian Motorways collects close to 20 million kuna over long weekend

Croatian Motorways (HAC) collected 19.4 million kuna (2.7 million Euros) on its motorway tolls over the recent holiday weekend in the country, reported Croatian radio television.
With passover holiday celebrated on Thursday 7 June, thousands of Croatians around the country took Friday off and enjoyed a 4-day weekend. More than 446,000 cars went through the tool booths from Thursday to Sunday.
Thursday 7 June also signalled the start of new toll prices, as credit card and cash payments went up 15 per cent. The price did not change however for those who use electronic toll payment devices (ENC), and according to HAC more than 6,500 devices have sold since the price rise announcement.
