Unemployed Croatian Hana Kolic, a 27-year-old economics graduate from Zagreb University who finished post graduate studies in Sweden, has explained to the world via YouTube the difficulties in gaining employment in Croatia.
Web portal dnevnik.hr reports that Kolic's 2-minute video is part of a competition that features similar stories from young people all over the world.
The International Labour Organisation (ILO) has launched a video contest for young people (from 18-29 years) on how the global jobs crisis is affecting them and their communities. Three winners will be offered an all expenses paid trip to Geneva, Switzerland to present their videos at the ‘Youth Employment Forum’ which takes place at the ILO on 23-25 May 2012.
"I think it is very important to talk about this issue and I'm happy to have had the opportunity to say how I felt and what I think about the labour market. In my opinion is not the fault of individuals but the fault of the environment and the system that currently exists," says Hana.
