Radimir Cacic wants to remain in politics
Croatian Times
Croatian People's Party (HNS) leader Radimir Cacic, who caused a traffic accident in which two persons died on a highway near Budapest on 8 January, will stay in politics.
In his interview in the daily Vecernji list today (Fri), Cacic said it had been a great shock and tragedy for him and he had needed time to pull himself together after the accident. He said he was ready to return to his daily duties.
Cacic added he had never considered trying to hide the accident. The interview is his first appearance in the media after the accident. Before that, he had issued press releases through his agency.
Cacic said he was in contact with his attorney in Hungary and ready to go to court there when a court called him.
His party colleagues said they believed he would stay in politics but added that would depend in part on the outcome of legal proceedings in the accident case.
