"Alois Mock– a politician writes history" launched in Zagreb

A book about an Austrian politician who helped shape Croatian independence has gone on sale in Zagreb.
The Croatian language version of "Alois Mock – A politician writes history" by Martin Eichtinger and Helmut Wohnout went on sale in the capital at a special event attended by Mock’s wife, Edith.
"Skolska knjiga" publishing company head Ante Zuzul said the Croatian edition of the book recognised politician Mock who "turned on a light" in the heads of people who were unaware of what was happening in the Croatian war of independence in the 1990s.
He added: "Mock was a fighter for the freedom of Croatia and Slovenia. He raised the question of international recognition of Croatia as independent country."
Alois Mock is a politician and member of the Austrian People's Party. He was Vice Chancellor of Austria from 1987 to 1989.
