Croatian journalist awarded Italian order

Croatian journalist Bruno Lopandic has been awarded the order of the Star of Italian Solidarity.

Italian president Giorgio Napolitano praised Lopandic for his work covering Croatian-Italian issues.

Lopandic, who works for the Croatian daily "Vjesnik" received the award from Italian ambassador to Croatia Alesandro Pignatti in Zagreb yesterday (Thurs).

Pignatti said relations between both countries had never been better.

The order of the Star of Italian Solidarity has previously been given to intellectuals, economists, journalists and cultural workers.
