Darinko Kosor has been elected the new president of the Croatian Social Liberal party (HSLS).
Kosor, who is also Zagreb HSLS head, got 524 votes and beat rivals Drazen Breglec and Davor Zmegac in the elections in Slavonski Brod on Saturday.
Around 1,000 party members gathered for the vote.
Kosor succeeds Djurda Adlesic, who had been HSLS president for the last three and a half years.
In his first presidential speech Kosor called all party members to follow him on "the same road for a better HSLS" and thanked Adlesic, who is to leave politics completely, for her work for the party.
