Croatian company makes giant boiler for Airbus

Croatian Times

Croatian steam boiler company Orometal from Oroslavje in the Krapina-Zagorje County in northern Croatia has just delivered its largest steam boiler in the companies history, which is to be used in the production of Airbus aircarfts. "The boiler is designed for an Austrian client, and will be installed in aircraft manufacturer Airbus' factory in France. Preparations for the delivery lasted all day, because the huge boiler needed a special crane to move the truck, and we had to wait for employees of Croatian Roads to measure it. Police permission meant that we had travel to France in the evening," said Vinko Matusa from Orometal. The steam boiler, which will drive Airbus' technology has a capacity of 12 megawatts (MW) and produces 22 tons of steam per hour. The length of the boiler is 9.2 meters, 4.1 meters wide, and four meters high. The boiler weighs 72 tons. Orometal has a 55 year tradition on the local and world market. "This is great news for us and our workers, without them this job would have not been possible," said satisfied director Dragutin Druzinec.
