More than 50 per cent of Croatians struggling to make ends meet

Croatian Times

More than half of the citizens of Croatia who were polled in a recent GfK survey, are hardly making ends meet with 54 per cent saying their financial situations have deteriorated in the last 12 months, reports website Tportal.

The majority of the Croatians polled who were struggling to meet their monthly expenses, came from the region of Slavonia in eastern Croatia.

One third of households also fear that their situation will get worse in the next 12 months as the Gfk survey painted a bleak economic picture for the country.

Only 4 per cent of households said that their economic situation had improved compared to last year. Croats are not too optimistic either, with 50 per cent expecting no change at all in the next 12 months.
