Famous Pinewood Studios looking at Croatia as new destination

Croatian Times

The film studios where famous movies such as the James Bond franchise, Superman, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean and Batman were filmed, are looking at locations in Croatia to build a new studio.

Representatives from Britain's Pinewood Studios, led by Director of International Operations Dave Godfrey, have been in Croatia looking at possible locations for their new studio. On the recommendation from Croatian Oscar-winner Branko Lustig, Godfrey was in the Dalmatian City of Zadar, where he held talks with the director of the Zadar Film Festival Sergej Stanojkovski, and Zadar's Deputy Mayor Drazen Grgurovic.

Although a decision has yet to be made, the City of Zadar is optimistic due to the interest the British had taken in a few key details, such as the proximity to the sea and airports, and the diversity of the terrain, reported website Tportal.
