Croatia Airline employees threaten strike in absence of new collective agreement

Several Croatia Airline unions are considering a general strike on 13 May if no new collective agreement has been signed by the first of next month, the daily Vecernji List writes.
The old collective agreement had ceased earlier this year and the negotiations for a new one were unsuccessful, prompting the administration to implement code of conduct regulations. These regulations however have cut certain rights that employees had under the collective agreement such as payment for urgent overtime or more vacations.
CA's General Director Goran Simunovic said that workers have the right to protest, but should this national company incur further losses, the government may "lose patience" and consider selling it or declaring bankruptcy.
The Minister of Transport Bozidar Kalmeta however has denied that a bankruptcy declaration is planned, the daily writes.
