New technologies in environmental protection could increase employment
Croatian Times
Zagreb's association for renewable energy DELTA has launched an initiative in the area of renewable energy that could help increase employment.
It is the use of the technology of growing algae to produce bio-diesel fuel and bio-filters for waste water from industry in the process of increasing biomass.
The technology of growing algae could reduce emissions of CO2 by 40 per cent and of NOx by 86 per cent.
DELTA Vice President Marin Pasaric said use of the new technology in environmental protection could create up to 10,000 new jobs in Croatia.
He added: "We are talking about basic sectors for further development of the domestic economy. Our aim is to help companies establish links with each other and encourage them to use renewable energy sources and environmentally-clean technologies."
