Around 8,000 Croats left without job in February
Croatian Times
Some 8,000 Croats have been left without work in the last month, which means more than 317,600 unemployed people were registered at the Croatian Employment Service (HZZ) in February.
Although HZZ has still not announced the official numbers, the daily Jutarnji list has reported the number of those without work rose by 20 per cent compared to February 2009.
In the past year, the number of unemployed people registered at HZZ has risen by 55,000.
The largest increase in unemployment was in Zagreb county, where the number of the unemployed increased by 40 per cent.
