Fifty per cent of Croats will not go on holiday this summer

Croatian Times

More Croatians are planning not to go on summer holidays this year because of the financial crisis, according to the results of market research conducted by GfK in February.

The survey of 1,000 people showed that 48 per cent of Croatians are planning not to go on holiday outside their cities this year. Last year, about 42 per cent planned not to go on holiday.

On the other hand, 52 per cent of them plan to go on holiday for five days somewhere outside their cities, a drop of six percentage points compared to last year.

In Zagreb, 67 per cent of residents plan to go somewhere, and most of them are 25 to 34 years old.

According to GfK, 58 per cent planned to go to holiday last year, but only 46 per cent did so because many were forced to cancel their holidays owing to the financial crisis and lack of money.
