Short Change

croatiantimes.com

A Chinese theme park accused of sexism for offering women who wear short skirts a 50 per cent discount says it only came up with the offer to support the local textile industry.

Managers at the famous Lemandi park pointed to the fact that there were dozens of stands selling short skirts outside their theme park in Guilin city, capital of south China’s Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

The park gives 50 percent discount to the female visitors and denies that it is to give a cheap thrill to male visitors who come to oggle the women on the fast paced rides as they struggle to hold down their skirts.

The offer to pay 5.50 GBP instead of 11 GBP for a ticket is only open to women aged over 18, and the skirts have to be no longer than 38 cm - with a staff member on hand to measure each garment before the discount is provided.
