Prince Charles went on a second honey-moon yesterday (thursday) - when he snapped up 100 jars of the sticky stuff during a visit to Romania.
The prince bought the organic spread during a trip to bee keeper Teofil Pandrea, 85, who uses bees feeding on nectar from wild flowers in remote woodlands in Saschiz, an ancient Saxon village in Count Dracula's Transylvania.
"He was interested to find out if colonies of bees are disappearing in Romania as they are in the rest of the world.
"I told him that we have wild bees here collecting pollen from meadow flowers that grow self-sown," said the beekeeper after a long heart-to-heart with the prince.
Charles - who has been staying with royal pal Count Tibor Kalnoky - also visited a micro-factory owned by British ex-pat Jim Turnbull who produces organic products from plants and trees.
The prince - who owns eight properties in region- is said to love the remote ancient communities which stretch back more than 1,000 years.
"The fact that is magic about Transylvania is that man still lives in communion with nature, a thing that is lacking in the UK," he once said.
