Croc Shock

croatiantimes.com

A keen angler got a reel shock during a fishing trip in Dolan, Poland - when he hooked a four-foot long crocodile and no-one believed him.

Fisherman Kazmierz Kaczor, 65, was after carp when he felt a tremendous weight on his line and started to reel it in.

"I couldn’t believe my eyes. There was this huge crocodile on the end," said Kaczor.

"I panicked a bit and called the police but they thought I was drunk or joking and told me to stop fantasising," he added.

It was only when he'd pulled the croc to the riverbank that the angler realised it wasn't moving.

"It was either dead or close to dead when I hooked it. It certainly looked dead once it was ashore, but I watched it for an hour before going anywhere near it," he said.

Wildlife experts and police say the beast had escaped from a zoo last week and had probably died of cold.
