Croatian Times

The tenth Spancirfest street festival will be held in the northern Croatian city of Varazdin from 22 to 31 August.

This year's festival will attract 1,600 participants in 250 different programmes.
The public can browse and buy arts and crafts products, traditional handicrafts as well as modern items for everyday use.

Some 130 traditional crafts will be on display, with concerts, plays, and workshops for children planned over the ten days to promote Varazdin as a cultural centre. While food lovers can also savour the local gastronomic specialities as well as traditional Croatian recipes.

Over the years Spancirfest has grown into a unique and hugely popular Croatian festival, attracting as many as 180,000 visitors in 2007.
