The "Tropicana" police operation has resulted in the arrest of 13 drug-traffickers in
Crikvenica, Novi Vinodolski and Rijeka.
The Primorsko-goranska police reported the results of the operation yesterday (Weds), adding that around half of the arrestees would probably be prosecuted. One suspect who is not from Primorsko-goranska district has not yet been arrested.
Police said one kilo of cocaine had been sold in quantities varying from half a gram to 100 grams.
Tropicana began in autumn 2007 after the police received information about illegal trafficking in cocaine in Crikvenica and Novi Vinodolski during the previous summer.
Police official Bozo Barbaric said police had worked to stop heroin trafficking in Primorsko-goranska district last year and were trying to stop trafficking in cocaine there this year.
